Philly House Of Blues Awarded $1M State Grant

PHILADELPHIA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell announced a $6.3 million investment in state agriculture and tourism projects today, May 18th, which included a $1 million grant awarded to the House of Blues Philadelphia.

The grant, from the state’s First Industries Fund, will be used by House of Blues to buy machinery and equipment for the music-and-dining establishment planned for the corner of 15th and Chestnut streets.

The House of Blues is reportedly going to be set to open by this summer.

A $150 million pool of grants, loans and loan guarantees is available to businesses in the tourism and agriculture industries through the state’s First Industries Fund. Since last year, the Commonwealth Financing Authority has approved funding for 202 projects, throughout the state under the fund, investing more than $31 million in the two fields. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
