LINCOLN, NE (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Lincoln's new arena in the West Haymarket area will be named Binnacle Bank Arena. Major Chris Beutler, Pinnacle Bancorp Chairman Sid Dinsdale and Pinnacle Bank President Mark Hesser announced the naming rights agreement at a news conference this morning at the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. A scale model of the arena with the new name also was unveiled.
Pinnacle Bank will pay a base fee of $11.25 million to be the exclusive title sponsor of the arena for a term of 25 years.
The $179 million arena project was approved by voters in May 2010.
Pinnacle Bank Arena is expected to open in the fall of 2013. UNL basketball will be the main tenant of the 470,400-foot facility, which can hold nearly 15,000 fans for Husker hoops.
Pinnacle Bank's title sponsorship will be the larges partnership for the arena. Other naming rights opportunities inside the arena are available for areas such as the box office, premium level and club lounge.
