Police End STS9 Concert Early After Alleged Overdoses

ASHEVILLE, NC (CelebrityAccess) — Asheville police shut down an Oct. 25th concert by STS9 (Sound Tribe Sector 9) early after a number of concert goers allegedly overdosed and the crowd became unruly.

According to Fox Carolina, police were called to Thomas Wolfe Auditorium shortly after 10PM after seven concertgoers had allegedly overdosed and were unresponsive at the concert. As police and medical staff were trying to help the medical patients, police say the crowd became unruly and started throwing bottles and other items at responding officers.

Police then communicated with venue officials, and the concert promoter who agreed to terminate the show early over safety and security concerns.

Seven people were transported to the hospital and four people were arrested for intoxication, resisting arrest and drug charges. Concertgoers took to social media and suggested that some of the patrons had ingested bad drugs at the event.

In a subsequent Facebook post, STS9 said, "We were indeed asked to wrap things up a little bit early due to some folks at the show that needed some extra medical attention. We hope everyone is feeling better today. It's a good reminder to keep an eye on our friends and family out there and try to help everyone make solid decisions." – Staff Writers
