(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — As Clear Channel Entertainment’s offices nationwide have been one by one switching back to their original indie names, such as Bill Graham Presents, Pace Concerts, Cellar Door and Delsener Presents, the Chicago offices were left without a past to draw inspiration from.
The division has announced that it will begin functioning under the name Elevated Concerts; an homage to the Windy City’s famous elevated trains known as the “El.”
“The renaming of Elevated Concerts continues our strategy of creating a national network of strong local promoter brands,” said Michael Rapino, CEO of Clear Channel Music Group, in a statement from the company. “We’ve set out to restore the autonomy and bring back the rich heritage and enduring reputation of each of our local businesses that truly represents the excitement and enthusiasm of the live music business.”
Prior to CCE’s buying spree in the early ‘90s, the other markets all had individual names that the parent company returned to in recent years. CCE’s Chicago office, however, was established post-roll-up to compete with the city’s independent Jam Productions.
Scott Gelman, VP of Booking, will remain in his post at the Elevated Concerts office where he books venues including the Tweeter Center at Tinley Park, the new Charter One Pavilion on Northerly Island, the Rosemont Theatre, the Allstate Arena, and the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, WI. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
Steve Moore Makes AEG Deal Official
(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Steve Moore has officially integrated his company, Moore Entertainment, into the AEG Live umbrella.
The veteran country music promoter has unofficially been working out of the AEG’s Nashville offices for the past year, but has just made the deal public. The Nashville offices also have a similar pact with The Messina Group.
Moore brings with him the Moore Entertainment team of marketing director Mary Gellott, project manager Lindsay Ewer, production/tour accountant Tom Corley, and production/sponsor relations Chris Crawford.
Moore is currently working with projects including CMT’s Brad Paisley tour and the Veggie Tales tour.
