NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Rapper Troy Ave. is recovering after being shot twice while sitting in his car in Brooklyn on Sunday evening.
According to the New York Post, Troy Ave. whose real name is Roland Collins, was shot in the head and shoulder, but is recovering and expected to be released from the hospital on Monday.
His girlfriend, who was in the car with him at the time of the shooting, escaped injury.
This is the second time Collins has been injured in a shooting incident this year. He is facing charges following a deadly exchange of gunfire at Irving Plaza last May that left one man dead. Collins, who was also shot during the incident, can be seen in surveillance video to be firing a weapon during the fight, but maintains that he acted in self defense.
Collins is facing charges of reckless endangerment, possession of a weapon, and menacing stemming from the Irving Plaza incident. – Staff Writers
