Rena Wasserman Joins Nederlander Concerts Of Southern California

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — James Nederlander, President of the Nederlander Organization, announced today that Rena Wasserman has been named Vice President of Operations and Business Development / General Manager of The Greek Theatre.

In her new role with Nederlander Concerts, Wasserman will oversee the day-to-day operations and management of the award-winning Greek Theatre as well as special projects and operations for the Southern California division of Nederlander Concerts.

“We are thrilled that Rena has joined our team at Nederlander Concerts,” said James L. Nederlander. “Her experience coupled with her strong industry relationships are a perfect fit to manage The Greek Theatre and further Nederlander’s expansion plans throughout the West Coast and other regions.”

For the past 20 years, Wasserman has been with The Wiltern Theatre, first serving as Production Manager under the direction of Bill Graham Presents for 5 years and most recently as the Executive Director where she cultivated her vast knowledge in venue management ranging from ticketing to security to production to front-of-house operations. In 2002, Wasserman oversaw The Wiltern’s successful remodel, commencing with the grand re-opening of the venue in October of that year. In addition, she has consulted on several theatre renovations and operations including the Uptown Theatre in Napa, California, the Alex Theatre in Glendale as well as the Madison Project at Santa Monica City College.

“I look forward with great anticipation to this new opportunity and to work with an amazing staff that have made The Greek Theatre the country’s best small outdoor venue for several years. In addition, I am particularly excited about the new direction of Nederlander Concerts and my involvement with those plans.” said Wasserman.

The award-winning Greek Theatre is owned by the City of Los Angeles, and is managed, operated and promoted by Nederlander-Greek Inc. During Nederlander’s 30 years at The Greek Theatre, it has become a world-renowned, theatre hosting thousands of events ranging from pop to classical music and reggae to rock. Some upcoming event highlights this season include Robert Plant (July 24), The Black Eyed Peas (July 28), Michael Bublé (Aug. 6), four nights of The White Stripes (Aug. 15-18) and James Brown with Michael McDonald (Aug. 27), among others.

For those not familiar with The Nederlander Organization, they are a privately owned and operated business established in 1912 that owns and/or operates more than 26 live theatres and music venues in the United States and England. Nederlander Concerts is headquartered in Los Angeles and books, promotes and produces premium live entertainment for many of Southern California’s most important venues, including the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim, The Grove of Anaheim, Staples Center, the Rabobank Arena, Theatre & Convention Center in Bakersfield, the Save Mart Center at Fresno State, the Santa Barbara Bowl and the San Diego Civic Theatre.
