Resolution Sues ICM Partners, Alleging Nuisance Campaign

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Jeff Berg's Resolution Talent Agency has sued Berg's former employer ICM Partners, alleging that ICM is seeking unwarranted commissions from former ICM agents who've since joined Resolution.

Berg, who formerly ran ICM along with Chris Silbermann, left late last year to found Resolution, taking a number of ICM agents with him in the process. According to The Hollywood Reporter, many of those agents are still in the process of negotiating exits from their contracts with ICM and the suit alleges that ICM is making claims on their commissions as a form of harassment.

"ICM Partners has sent a number of claim letters to Resolution, gravely 'reserving rights' against Resolution regarding these agents and commissions. ICM Partners contends that Resolution has to pay ICM partners commissions Resolution earns for some deals Resolution has negotiated or will negotiate through agents who used to be ICM Partners employees. All of ICM Partner's threats remain in limbo," Resolution wrote in their legal filing.

Through the lawsuit, Resolution asking the court to issue a ruling preventing ICM from continuing what Resolution characterizes as a "nuisance campaign" and allowing Resolution to operate on behalf of its clients without "attracting claim letters from ICM Partners."
