(CelebrityAccess News Service) — Robert Lockwood Jr.¹s first domestic recording since 2000 was released on March 9 by M.C. Records . The intimate performance was recorded in 2003 at The Rhythm Room in Phoenix, AZ and marks over six decades of releases from Lockwood.
The Legend Live features Robert Lockwood Jr., who is 89-years-old, performing solo on his 12 – string electric guitar. He is the only living person to have learned guitar from Robert Johnson. He was also a top session guitarist for Chess Records in the 1950's and influenced a generation of musicians with his appearances on King Biscuit Time in the 1940's with Sonny Boy Williamson II on KFFA.. Some songs on the CD have never before been recorded by Lockwoodor have never been recorded solo. He also is a twice-Grammy nominated artist (most recently in 2000) and a W.C. Handy winner.
Lockwood will be performing on the syndicated radio program Mountain Stage to broadcast on April 23 on the syndicated radio program Woodsongs Radio Hour on April 24.
