Ron Wilcox Joins SoundExchange's Board Of Directors

WASHINGTON D.C. (CelebrityAccess) — On Tuesday, digital royalty collection organization SoundExchange announced that veteran label exec Ron Wilcox has joined their Board of Directors. Wilcox's appointment took effect on Jan. 1st and he will replace Sony Music's Jeff Walker.

“This is an exciting time for our industry, with the uptake of streaming driving encouraging growth. SoundExchange has a vital role to play in helping to sustain that growth and to ensure the digital opportunity continues to expand for artists and rights-holders. I’m delighted to join this distinguished Board as we work with the creative community to uphold and promote the value of music,” Wilcox said of his appointment.

Wilcox currently serves as WMG’s Executive Counsel, Business Affairs, Strategic and Digital Initiatives and comes with an impressive industry resume.

Prior to WMG, at Sony Music, Wilcox served as Executive Vice President, Business Affairs and New Technology, and subsequently as Executive Vice President, Chief Business and Legal Affairs Officer. He also serves on the T.J. Martell Foundation’s Board of Directors, and the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, Inc. (NARAS) Foundation’s Entertainment Law Initiative Executive Committee, of which he is past chair.

He graduated from The College of Wooster and University of Michigan Law School. – Staff Writers
