Roskilde Trades Beer For Trash

ROSKILDE (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — In its ever-evolving quest for environmental friendliness, the Roskilde Festival has announced a new initiative: rewarding concertgoers with cold Tuborg beer for each full bag of garbage turned in from the campsites.

The festival has launched a competition, challenging its attendees to keep the festival site cleaner than years’ past. Each campsite will participate by collecting garbage, with the site holding the most bags each day winning backstage access to the Orange Stage and tickets to Roskilde Festival ’08.

The competitions are sponsored by festive environmental movement Viva la Renovation, and will be called rosKILLdeGARBAGEgang. The group will provide all camps with garbage and collection tips.

The festival, set for July 5-8, sold out rapidly this year, boasting a line-up that includes the Beastie Boys, Björk, Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tiësto and The Who, among many, many more. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
