San Diego Sports Arena Gets Name Change

SAN DIEGO, CA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The San Diego Sports Arena has announced a name change for the facility after negotiating a sponsorship agreement with ipayOne, a San Diego real estate company.

The San Diego Sports Arena is now officially called the ipayOne Center at the Sports Arena. The arrangement between the San Diego Sports Arena and ipayOne was approved at the March 14th San Diego City Council’s open meeting.

“We’re very pleased to have ipayOne as our new naming rights partner at the San Diego Sports Arena,” said Ernie Hahn, general manager of the new ipayOne Center at the Sports Arena. “This deal will certainly provide ipayOne with an excellent opportunity to brand their company throughout the region. With our multitude of concerts, family shows and sporting events, this relationship will make a big impact for their company. San Diegan’s will see the new ipayOne Center changes, and we hope to have many of these additions to the facility completed before the start of U2’s world wide tour opening date on March 28th.”

“This naming rights agreement is a huge step in our company’s overall growth and we’re looking forward to this partnership,” said Sal Benti, president & CEO of ipayOne. “We feel the ipayOne Center at the Sports Arena will continue to reinforce our name in the marketplace both locally and nationally.”

The San Diego Sports Arena first opened on November 17, 1966. Over the past 38 years, it has been host to top entertainment acts from Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and U2 to Disney On Ice, the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus and the Harlem Globetrotters. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
