CHARLESTON, SC (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Fresh off of an international headlining tour, Sara Bareilles has just hit the road again for a summer tour with country duo Sugarland.
"I'm really excited about this pairing. Partially just because I sort of just love [Sugarland] and love what they do. But they're also the most amazing, sweetest people in the entire world and just wonderful human beings," Bareilles told ABC News Radio. "I don't know if I'm going to be able to swear as much as I normally do [on stage], but we'll have to see how that goes." Bareilles added.
Bareilles most recent tour included a series of Asian dates and while many artists canceled planned tours of Japan, Bareilles embraced the opportunity, not only performing, but volunteering for disaster relief. According to the Charleston Gazette, Bareilles traveled to the northern Japanese town of Ofunato, where she dug ditches, cleared debris and lent support to people trying to salvage their lives.
"The people in Japan were just amazing," Bareilles told the Charleston Gazette. "Little old ladies would come by and watch you work and say, 'Arigato.' It was very touching and very profound."
