LONDON (VIP NEWS) — The O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London is expected to re-open shortly after it was closed as a precaution due to structural damage.
A concert by Courteeners was postponed, with customers advised to retain their tickets until further notice. Some shows have been rescheduled or moved to different venues, while a decision on others is still to be determined.
“Following a formal inspection of the roof of O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Friday, December 4, the venue was closed as a precaution for further inspections and safety checks from Monday, December 7,” said a statement by the venue’s owner and operator Academy Music Group (AMG).
“We continually invest in all of our theatre venues. Safety and amenities for our customers and staff is paramount and we are truly sorry for the inconvenience this unexpected maintenance and repair may cause.
“We are undertaking remedial works and aim to be fully open within a matter of weeks. Our thanks to all fans, artists and promoters for their cooperation, it is sincerely valued and appreciated.”
AMG will provide a further update later in the week.
