Slipknot Stream First Gig In UK Since Bassist Death

LONDON (VIP NEWS) — Slipknot will stream their headline set from Sonisphere Festival on Sunday (July 10) live online.

The masked metallers' performance will be transmitted on their official website, Slipknot1.com , and the Knebworth's festival's website Sonispherefestivals.com .

In a statement, the Iowa band said that the gig will be an "epic and emotional occasion", owing to the fact it's their first in the UK since the death of bassist Paul Gray.

"England has always been a special place for this band from the very beginning. We can’t think of a better way to culminate our celebration of Paul’s life than to share it with the maggots at Knebworth and the millions more watching around the world. This is not to be missed," the band said.

Festival producer Stuart Galbraith added that it's the first time the event has been streamed live on the internet.

Sonisphere Festival kicks off today with sets from metal's 'big four', Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax.

Saturday (9) will see You Me At Six and Weezer play before headliners Biffy Clyro, while Limp Bizkit, Motorhead and Mastodon are on the bill for Sunday.
