Smirnoff Centre Gets New Moniker


DALLAS (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Its had a lot of names in recent years, Starplex, Fair Park, Smirnoff Center and now Superpages.com Center can be added to the list.

The Dallas Morning News has reported that officials from the Dallas-based search engine provider Superpages.com have signed with Live Nation secure naming rights for the venue.

The new name is likely to draw less controversy than the previous name Smirnoff Music Center which drew complaints, including some from city council members.

The previous name sponsor, Smirnoff, had signed an 8-year agreement in 2000 for $6 million dollars. Details of the Superpages deal have not been released.

Opened in 1988, The 20,000 capacity Superpages.com Center has hosted over 600 concert events for over 6,000,000 patrons, making it the Metroplex's busiest and longest running outdoor facility dedicated solely to live concert events. The venue is part of Dallas’ Fair Park complex, which includes museums, an aquarium, gardens and the Cotton Bowl football stadium.
