SEBASTOPOL, CA (CelebrityAccess) — Sonoma concert promoter Laurie Schaeffer, who, through her company Schaef-Abel Productions, promoted hundreds of shows with acoustic singer songwriters, has died. She was 59 at the time of her passing.
According to the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat, Schaeffer died April 24 from complications of a an intestinal disorder. Coincidentally, her 63-year-old brother died on the same day.
A native of California, Schaeffer and her business partner Greg Abel met in 1975 and found a mutual love of music that eventually led them into promoting shows.
A performance by Kinky Friedman at the Sebastopol Grange on May 8th that was intended at a 60th birthday party for Schaeffer will instead be a memorial event. – Staff Writers
