LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — Entertainer and stage magician Paul Daniels has announced he is canceling his remaining tour dates after being diagnosed with an incurable brain tumor.
The news was confirmed by a post on Daniel's website, which said: "We can confirm that one of the greatest magicians and entertainers of all time, Paul Daniels, has sadly been diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour. On behalf of Paul, Debbie and their families, we thank you for your kind concern and support at this sad time and ask that their privacy continues to be respected."
According to the BBC, the 77-year-old star has backed out of performances in Nottingham and Liverpool, as well as the Leicester Comedy Festival earlier this month. His calender also listed upcoming shows at the Duchess Theatre in York; Glusburn Theatre in Yorkshire; The Orchard Theatre in Kent; and the Walton Playhouse in Walton on Thames among others.
A veteran performer, Daniels is best known for his long-running television series The Paul Daniels Magic Show, which ran on the BBC from 1979 to 1994. – Staff Writers
