LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood has checked himself into a London rehabilitation clinic this week for treatment of alcohol abuse, a spokeswoman for the band said over the weekend. Wood will still join the band for the start of its European tour next month as planned.
The European leg of the Stones’ “Bigger Bang” tour, already delayed once because of Keith Richards’ strange fall from a coconut tree in Fiji, will re-launch as scheduled on July 11th in Milan, Italy.
Publicist Fran Curtis confirmed reports that Wood had checked into an alcohol rehabilitation facility, saying that “He needs some rest, but will definitely be fit for the first night of the European tour.”
