'Strait' To The Top Of The ACMs

NASHVILLE (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) – George Strait has scored his 82nd career ACM nomination for Male Vocalist of the Year. Strait has won the category won six times and been nominated 18 times.

“I never get tired of hearing my name in these announcements,” said Strait according to a press release. “I’m thankful to the fans and the ACM.”

Nominees were announced at a press conference at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville yesterday.

On April 3rd, Blake Shelton will join forces with country music star Reba to host the 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards live from Las Vegas on CBS at 7:00 pm central.

Strait’s CD Twang debuted at #1 on The Billboard 200 chart and the Top Country Albums chart.

This is the fourth time in Strait's career that a new release has debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and the 13th time debuting at #1 on the Top Country Albums chart, according to the press release.

Strait’s currently touring the country with Reba and Lee Ann Womack in tow.
