QUEENS, NY (CelebrityAccess) — Forest Hills, the Queens-based former tennis arena turned concert venue has announced their summer concert lineup, with featured artists including Ed Sheeran, The Who and Santana.
Other headliners performing at Forest Hills this summer include Van Morrison, D’Angelo, James Taylor, Alabama Shakes and the New York Pops.
This is the third year for the revitalized venue and they announced that they are making upgrades on the venue to help reduce noise concerns.
According to The Queens Chronicle, the venue is spending as much as 500,000 on upgrades, including sound absorbing barriers along the perimeter fence, and along the side and rear stections of the venue's stage.
As well, stairway enclosures and sound absorbing panels will be installed prior to concerts taking place in May.
“We don’t live in eastern Long Island,” local resident Lori Lucena, who lives immediately adjacent to the venue said at a recent town hall meeting about the venue. “It doesn’t get any louder than it does in my apartment, but the progress has been made from concert to concert has been unbelievable." – Staff Writers
