The Radio Dept. Scraps Fall Tour

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Swedish indie pop group The Radio Dept. have pulled the plug on their planned fall tour of North America.

In a statement, the band wrote: "The Radio Dept. regretfully inform that they are forced to cancel the upcoming North American tour due to family related matters. Hope to see you in 2012."

Radio Dept. has had a busy year, with the release of a singles collection earlier this year that garnered solid reviews from the press, including an 8.2 review in Pitchfork, who described it as having a "magnetic breeziness about it, and for all the early-2000s signifiers and the blown-out lo-fi production, it actually sounds five years ahead of its time."

The band followed up the release with a Spring tour of North America that included several major festival slots, including Pitchfork, Sasquatch in the Gorge and Coachella.

While they won't be touring this fall,t he band will be in the studio and hopes to have an announcement about new material in 2012. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
