PRAGUE, Czech Republic (CelebrityAccess) — Live Nation's Ticketmaster continued it's international expansion this week with the acquisition of Czech-based ticket agency Ticketpro.
Founded in 1992, Ticketpro operates primarily in the Czech Republic and Poland, but also has licensed its ticketing software in other countries, including Hungary, Belarus, and Chile. Currently, Ticketpro reports that it sells more than 2 million tickets a year in the Czech Republic and has sold more than 20 million tickets since it launched.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Ticketmaster's acquisition of Ticketpro expands their footprint internationally to thirty different countries and follows most closely their launch in Israel after Live Nation acquired Israeli promoter Bluestone last week.
