(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) —
Ticketmaster and Clear Channel Entertainment have installed Ticketmaster’s state-of-the-art access control and ticket authentication system, AccessManager, at the Carling Apollo Hammersmith in London, England. The first event to utilize the new system at the venue was Oasis on May 26.
AccessManager gives the Carling Apollo Hammersmith the ability to scan bar-coded event tickets. It enables the venue to monitor entry traffic, validate tickets in real-time, speed up the replacement of lost tickets, eliminate wrong day event tickets and authenticate event admissions. AccessManager will help speed patrons’ entry into the venue, eliminating entry congestion with its ability to scan each ticket’s unique barcode in less than one quarter-second. In addition, AccessManager deters counterfeiting by identifying invalid tickets and denying access.
“We are pleased to be able to extend our relationship with Ticketmaster who have proven once again that they offer the best ticketing technology and services in the marketplace today,” said Paul Latham, chief executive officer, Clear Channel Entertainment. “We strive to provide our customers with the best and most efficient levels of service and are confident that this latest initiative with Ticketmaster will greatly improve consumer access to the venue.”
”AccessManager is the market-leader in access control technology for the live entertainment industry with its ability, in a simple and secure way, to streamline the ticketing process and deter counterfeiting and fraud," said Chris Edmonds, managing director, Ticketmaster UK. "This innovative ticketing technology will enable Clear Channel Entertainment to offer its consumers the fast and easy ticketing solution they deserve.” –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
