LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — While Gwen Stefani may be a certified pop icon, with three Grammy Awards and more than 30 million album sales to her name from her time with her band No Doubt, that apparently doesn't always translate to ticket sales.
Earlier this month, the New York Post reported that Stefani's upcoming “This Is What the Truth Feels Like” solo tour has not been generating the hoped-for sales.
Despite a strong promotional push that included a Groupon deal to help drive traffic, the Post quoted an unnamed "music source" who described the sales as "horrifying."
With the tour set to kick off on July 12 in Boston, an analysis of seating availability on Ticketmaster shows that only her Los Angeles and Jones Beach shows are running low on inventory, with seating widely available at other dates, including the opener.
The tour will be the first for Stefani since her 2007 Sweet Escape Tour, a highly-successful outing that saw numerous sold-out shows and grossed more than $30 million. – Staff Writers
