DALLAS, TX (CelebrityAccess) — Promoter C3 Presents has pulled the plug on at least two stops of the upcoming Art of Rap touring festival, just days before the gate was due to open.
Both the July 16th show at GEXA Energy Pavilion in Dallas and the July 17th show at Austin360 Amphitheater at Circuit of The Americas have been canceled.
The tour's other 8 dates, including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and New York City are still listed as on at this point.
The festival is presented by SiriusXM’s classic Eighties and Nineties hip-hop station, Backspin, the festival features a lineup of classic hip-hop artists, including Public Enemy, Naughty by Nature, Mobb Deep, Grandmaster Melle Mel & Scorpio, MC Lyte, EPMD, the Sugarhill Gang and Kurtis Blow.
While Live Nation's C3 Presents did not offer a reason for the cancellation, the cancellations come just a week after the fatal shootings of five police officers and the wounding of nine others at a #blacklivesmatter rally protesting alleged police brutality. – Staff Writers
