BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (CelebrityAccess) — City officials in Buenos Aires have given the green light to a planned Kraftwerk show after a controversial ban on electronic music threatened to derail it.
As previously reported in CelebrityAccess, the show's promoter Move Concerts had initially been denied a permit for the show due to the band's heavy reliance on synthesizers for their music. The city had passed a ban on music festivals where “synthesizers or samplers are the primary instrument” following 5 drug-related deaths at an EDM festival earlier this year.
While the Kraftwerk show was not a festival, officials had initially denied permits, suggesting that the ban applied, according to IQ Music.
However, on appeal, the ban on the show was overturned with a rep for Move telling IQ that city officials determined that the ban did not apply to indoor concerts, which is now described as a recital. – Staff Writers
