NEW YORK (Hypebot) – DRM IS OFFICIALLY DEAD
Sources tell Hypebot that Sony BMG is taking its entire catalog DRM free. The decision was actually made last month and only reformatting the tracks as mp3's for delivery to download services is holding up an announcement.
A Business Week article that broke earlier today implied a major DRM-free experiment by Sony BMG, but sources tell Hypebot that the entire catalog will become available before the end of the month.
