Waxploitation Entertainment, Carter Gibbs Management Form Savren Sports Management Company

Waxploitation Entertainment and Carter Gibbs Management have formed Savren Sports Management Company.
Carter Gibbs and Jeff Antebi, the owner of Waxplotation, have merged their respective management divisions to create a joint Savren Sports Management Company. The company will represent athletes in the action/extreme sports industry (BMX, Skateboard, Surf, Snowboard, Freestyle Motocross).

Waxploitation, a leading artist and producer management company, has a roster including Tha Alkaholiks, King Britt, Kutmasta Kurt, Chris Vrenna (aka Tweaker), Madlib, Peanut Butter Wolf and Josh Wink amongst others. Waxploitation is best known for its work on albums, singles and remixes for U2, P.O.D., Xzibit, Weezer, Macy Gray and Rob Zombie among others.

Gibbs is recognized as one of the top marketing and design gurus of the alternative youth action sports market, renown for his work with artists and companies including Philips (Fusion), Sublime, Transworld, Kottonmouth Kings and Gotcha/MCD. He was the founder of two of the most influential action sports clothing companies: SHR Productions and SMP Clothing as well as Munity Freeboards and Grail Films.

Savren will be managing athletes including Tommy “TOMCAT” Clowers (Gold medal at X Games 2002), Caleb Wyatt (First Backflip in History), Jeremy Carter (Hardcore X Games veteran), Ryan Capes (Daredevil), Tyler "the DEAD King" King (Underground Legend), Greg Schaaf (The new school ) and Cleve Beelart (The new school II).

“It makes a lot of sense for us to do this,” says Antebi. “There’s a vibrant synergy between hip hop MCs, top BMX athletes, top record producers and top skateboarders. Under the umbrella of Savren, we’ve created one company that will concurrently serve the sports, video gaming, and music community. We’ve created one company that expands into sports, video games and music all-in-one.”

Gibbs adds, “Our athletes love music and the artists love action sports…I think it was inevitable.”

Gibbs and Antebi/Waxploitation will maintain offices in Los Angeles and San Diego.
