Connick Jr, Marsalis, McGraw Co-Headline Concert for Hurricane Relief Telethon

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — New Orleans natives Harry Connick Jr. and Wynton Marsalis, along with fellow Louisiana native Tim McGraw will co-headline the hour-long "A Concert for Hurricane Relief" on September 2 with an appearance by Leonardo DiCaprio, among others. "Today" show co-host Matt Lauer will host the event. The concert/telethon will air on NBC, MSNBC and CNBC, 8 p.m. ET, and be broadcast from the NBC's New York studios.

"I am heartbroken by the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina in my home state," says McGraw, a member of the American Red Cross National Celebrity Cabinet. "Like so many Americans I am watching the news reports with great sadness. But it's at times like these that each of us must work together to provide lifesaving aid to those in terrible need. I sincerely encourage everyone to support the American Red Cross, government efforts and others in the non-profit community with this historically unprecedented undertaking."

All viewers will be asked to donate to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund in support of hurricane relief through its website and donation hotline, www.redcross.org or 1-800-HELP NOW. — Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
