OMAHA, NE (CelebrityAccess) — Steve “Bogie” Bogdanovich, a longtime Vice President and Production Manager at Romeo Entertainment group died on August 6th after a three-year battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. He was 66.
Bogdanovich underwent a lung transplant earlier this year but was unable to recover from the surgery.
A lifelong native of Omaha, Nebraska, Bogdanovich got his start in the music business playing in local bands as a teenager. His first professional gig in the industry was a production manager at the Aksarben Coliseum and Thoroughbred Racetrack and the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben, a philanthropic group based in Omaha. He maintained his position at Aksarben until the building closed in 2001.
In 2001, he joined Romeo Entertainment Group, serving as an agent and production manager, and eventually a vice president for the promotion company. He remained at REG for the next 17 years, overseeing the production of events across the western United States.
In addition to his full-time work, Bogie ventured into many “side gigs,” including his video production company, BogieVision, (1992-2003), his work producing the All-Star Jam at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas (2003-2015), and his annual gig as production manager for the Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders Meeting in Omaha. He was the recipient of several industry awards, including the 2013 IEBA Talent Buyer of the Year, the 2010 Academy of Country Music Talent Buyer of the Year, and the 2009 Jack Hunter Award from the Dakota Fairs Association.
In 2011, Bogdanovich was the recipient of the Don Romeo Talent Buyer of the Year Award at the 5th annual Academy of Country Music Honors, and in 2013, he was named the IEBA Talent Buyer of the Year.
Bogdanovich was survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Shawn Poulicek (Joe) and Jody Olsen (Ryan); grandchildren, Steven and Sidney; mother, Josie Bogdanovich; sister, Mary Jo Goodwin (Bruce); nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 10th from 5 pm to 8 pm at the West Center Chapel at Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler on 7805 W. Center Road in Omaha. Funeral services for Bogdanovich will be held on August August 11th at 10 am at the same location.
