NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) The MTV Video Music Awards took place at Radio City Music Hall in NYC Aug. 20. Although there were no Kanye moments (old school: or Tim Commerford moments), one of the big winners was the “s” word, which slipped through at least five times. Performers included Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Lopez, Shawn Mendes, PrettyMuch, a Christ-like Ariana Grande, and Aerosmith with Post Malone hanging out with them onstage.

Madonna gave tribute to Aretha Franklin by talking about her own early career (the show ran long). Logic provided the night’s obligatory anti-Trump message with references to immigration. Wearing a shirt that said, “F*ck the wall,” Logic was joined on stage for his single “One Day” by members of the National Domestic Workers Alliance, United We Dream and Make the Road New York and their children, according to a release sent by the organizations.
