(CelebrityAccess) – Spotify announced this week that Doug Ford, a senior director and head of music culture & editorial, will be exiting the company.

Ford, who joined Spotify in 2013 as part of its acquisition of music discovery app Tunigo, has been one of the streaming giant’s top executives in charge of playlisting across genres. Most notably, he established “The Syndicate,” the strategy behind many of Spotify’s top playlists, including RapCaviar and New Music Friday.

Ford’s departure from Spotify is not the first of 2018. A number of other high-profile execs have also made their exit this year including chief marketing officer Seth Farberman, marketing execs Dave Rocco and Angela Watts, global head of creator service Troy Carter, head of music culture George Ergatoudis, global head of artist and industry partnerships Mark Williamson, and global programming head of hip-hop and curator of RapCaviar Tuma Basa.
