LONDON (CelebrityAccess) The Music Week Awards 2019 took place at the Battersea Evolution, drawing 1,300 industry execs to the London venue May 9.

The awards show, hosted by Radio 2’s Jo Whiley, saw Polydor and Atlantic take who two awards each, with Polydor taking home Record Company of the Year. Atlantic won the A&R Award, with the label’s Alec Boateng acknowledging “all the artists who follow their heart and soul.”

Bono honored Beese in a video message, calling him “a prince of a man.” There were also messages of support from Universal Music Group chairman Sir Lucian Grainge and UK chairman David Joseph.
