AMSTERDAM (CelebrityAccess) — France’s electronic music scene will be showcased as focus country at this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event.

As part of the Guesthouse conference program De Balie, located near ADE’s main venue the DeLaMar Theater, is hosting a day of workshops, panels, keynotes and presentations featuring France’s most active and relevant musicians and industry figures from the worlds of labels, streaming, publishing, event planning, marketing, and distribution.

France is best known historically for their funky contribution to EDM known as French House or the ‘French Touch’. The sound, which relies heavily on filters, takes a page from more traditional disco, but at a higher BPM. Progenitors of the sound include Bob Sinclar, Thomas Bangalter, Daft Punk, and Stardust.

“It’s now 20 years since the French Touch, so we’ll be presenting the new generation of producers and DJs; the emerging stars, and examen what has changed in the clubs and in the festival & live event scene. We will also outline key contacts for all of those sectors,” Technopol’s Tommy Vaudecrane, co-organiser of the French Electronic Lab, commented. “Our aim is to guide visitors towards optimizing their business exchanges both in France and with French companies abroad. Ultimately we hope to provide people with the tools to maximize their import and export activities and to facilitate networking and engagement with new talent.”

Over the years a host of French artists, producers, and industry figures have made their way to both the ADE Conference and ADE Festival, including Acid Arab, Agoria, Agar Agar, Anetha, Bambounou, Francois K., Laurent Garnier, Miss Kittin, Hyphen Hyphen, IHateModelsand Yuksek.
