CHICAGO (CelebrityAccess) — Embattled R&B singer R. Kelly was charged with 11 additional felony counts of sexual abuse on Thursday.
According to CBS Chicago, the new charges include four counts of aggravated sexual assault and three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim between the ages of 13 and 16. Kelly is also facing two additional counts of criminal sex assault by force and two counts of aggravated criminal sex abuse, the news outlet reported.
Most of the alleged incidents all took place during the month of January 2010, and three were alleged to have occurred during the 8 month period between May 1, 2009 and January 31, 2010.
Kelly was previously charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse against four different women, three of whom were underage at the time the alleged abuse took place.
Kelly is due in court to answer the charges on January 31st. He has strenuously denied the allegations leveled against him.
In a series of Twitter posts, Kelly’s attorney, Steve Greenberg, said that the new charges did not relate to new victims, but that he was recharged in an existing case.
