WESTERLY, RI (CelebrityAccess) — Prosecutors have decided not to pursue charges against an Iowa man who police allege was arrested near Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island estate in July.

According to WJAR-TV, a spokesman for the Rhode Island’s attorney general’s office said: “Based on our review of the evidence and applicable law, we’ve declined to pursue filing charges.”

On July 19, 32-year-old David Page Liddle of Des Moines, Iowa, was arrested near Swift’s home in Rhode Island and charged with possession of burglary tools and a weapon other than a firearm

At the time of his arrest, police said that Liddle said he was trying to “catch up” with Swift and that he was a personal acquaintance with the singer.

“He kept telling us he knew her personally and was just coming to visit,” Westerly Police Chief Shawn Lacey told the Sun after Liddle’s arrest. “He said he was trying to launch his singing career and she had agreed to help.”

The Associated Press reported that Swift’s security team said Liddle is on their ‘watch list’ and is suspected of previously attempting to stalk the singer.
