CLEVELAND, Ohio (CelebrityAccess) — Ohio natives The Black Keys will be on hand for the official re-opening of the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse as part of a “Welcome Home” Grand Opening event on Sept. 30th.
The event will also include a public ‘open house’ that includes a tour of the newly-refurbed arena on September 28th.
The renovations, which cost $180 million dollars with the Cavaliers privately funding $115 million of the cost, included an expanded main entrance with a glass atrium that adds more than 24,000 square feet to the arena’s footprint.
The arena’s customer hospitality options have been upgraded as well, with new restaurants, breweries, and concessions, including B-Spot, Launch Test Kitchen, Saucy Brew Works, GreenHouse Tavern, Flying Fig, and Bell’s Brewery.
The FieldHouse also added a new external display that consists of a 77,000 square-foot curtain wall that will be used for LED projections capable of up to 1,500 color combinations, allowing the FieldHouse to customize its outside to match events.
New features also include a new entryway called the “Power Portal” made up of 1,000 square feet of LED panels along with a dynamic audio system, as well as a newly redesigned box office.
Upcoming shows at the newly revamped arena include Jurassic World Live (Oct. 3-6), Carrie Underwood (Oct. 16), Celine Dion (Oct. 18), WWE (Oct.21), Chance The Rapper (Nov. 2), Elton John (Nov. 11), Luke Combs (Nov. 16) and Trans-Siberian Orchestra (Dec. 27) with more to be announced soon.
