NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Entertainment marketing agency The Syndicate announced the hire of industry veteran Billy Burrs for the newly-created role of SVP of Artist Development and Global Commerce.
In his new gig, Burrs will be tasked with promoting the Syndicate’s artist clients across multiple platforms, as well as overseeing the company’s other services such as marketing, PR, and expanding international opportunities.
“It’s an honor for a respected friend like Bill to be joining our family,” says Syndicate partner Jon Landman. “He’s already been a major part of our company history, and we’re so excited to be building our future together.”
“I’ve been friends with Jon for 15 years and used The Syndicate exclusively throughout my career,” adds Burrs. “The passion, integrity and tenacity of their team always inspired me and it’s an honor to join the family. There’s a great energy and I look forward to offering my own promotion and DSP expertise.”
Burrs comes to The Syndicate after a long run at RCA in New York, where he spent 15 years as SVP of Rock Music for the label. While at RCA, he helped to break the Strokes, Ray LaMontagne, David Gray, Foo Fighters and Kings Of Leon, amongst others.
More recently, he joined Lyor Cohen and Kevin Liles in launching the startup 300 Entertainment, where he spent the last five years as Head of Promotion, overseeing campaigns by artists such as Fetty Wap, Highly Suspect, Cheat Codes, Young Thug, Meg Myers, and Meg Mac.
Burrs began his career at Zoo Entertainment in Chicago in the ’90s, before he was named VP of Alt/Rock at Geffen.
