TORONTO (CelebrityAccess) — Canadian music publisher Anthem Entertainment announced the acquisition of a range of songs from the catalog of the Puerto Rican multi-platinum songwriter and performer Darell.
The deal includes songs from Darell’s catalog such as “Te Boté (REMIX),” Darell’s 10x Diamond certified collaboration with Nio Garcia, Casper Magico, Bad Bunny, Ozuna and Nicky Jam.
The catalog also includes songs such as “Otro Trago” by Sech and Darell; “Asesina” by Brytiago and Darell, as well as songs featuring El Alfa, Rauw Alejandro, J Balvin, Myke Towers, Jennifer Lopez, Wisin & Yandel, and more.
Along with the acquisition, Anthem is increasing its focus on the Latin market and has appointed Victor Mijares as the company’s first VP of Latin Music and will oversee all future Latin signings.
Mijares, who played a key role in the acquisition of Darell’s catalog, previously held positions at companies such as Warner, Sony and BMG. In his new role at Anthem, he will work closely with the acquisitions team to source and secure additional investment opportunities in the Latin market, further expanding a catalog that already includes hits from artists such as Karol G, Marc Anthony, Feid, Luis Fonsi, Maria Becerra, Tainy, Juanes, Farruko, Romeo Santos, Camilo, Tokischa, Annuel AA and Ricky Martin.
