NASHVILLE (CelebrityAccess) – Anthem Entertainment is expanding its presence in the music industry by acquiring the song catalog of platinum-selling Nashville songwriter Matt Alderman. Alongside the acquisition, Alderman has signed a publishing deal with the company, Anthem announced on Tuesday (November 19).
Alderman gained prominence in 2017 with Jake Owen’s hit “Good Company,” which landed on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Since then, he has penned a series of chart-topping tracks, including Dylan Scott’s “Nobody,” which hit #1 on Mediabase Country Charts; Mitchell Tenpenny’s platinum-certified “Truth About You”; and Dylan Smith’s “Can’t Have Mine (Find You A Girl),” which topped both Mediabase Country and Billboard’s US Country Airplay charts.
Alderman’s collaborations extend across the country music landscape, with credits alongside artists like Jordan Davis, Cole Swindell, Lee Brice, Brett Young, Dustin Lynch, and Granger Smith.
Noah Dewey, Vice President of Creative at Anthem Music Publishing Nashville, praised Alderman’s talent and work ethic, saying, “I’ve been a fan of Matt Alderman’s for years and I’m thrilled to finally get the opportunity to work with him. He’s an accomplished songwriter with immense natural musical talent, accompanied by a drive to win. Matt will be an amazing addition to our roster here at Anthem.”
Alderman expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “I’m really excited to start this new journey with Anthem, and I want to thank Noah Dewey for making it happen. I’m looking forward to seeing where this collaboration takes us and to creating some great music with the team.”
The acquisition reflects Anthem Entertainment’s strategy of investing in top-tier talent. The Toronto-based independent company has made notable moves, including acquiring the catalog of multi-platinum urban artist Darell to expand its Latin music portfolio. Other investments this year include a catalog of hit songs by Grammy and JUNO-winning singer-songwriter Chantal Kreviazuk, and publishing interests in Timbaland’s catalog alongside an investment in Beatclub, the beat marketplace founded by Timbaland and Gary Marella.
Anthem Entertainment operates in Toronto, Nashville, New York, and Los Angeles. Formerly Ole Media Management, the company rebranded in 2019.
