(CelebrityAccess) — The DIY music streaming platform SoundCloud announced a new subscription tier aimed at helping emerging artists bring their music to fans more affordably.
Priced at $3.25/month (or $39/year), the new Artist plan fills the gap between SoundCloud’s basic streaming subscription and their pro artist tier allows subscribers to:
Upload an unlimited tracks with a total content limit of 3 hours and to distribute two tracks per month to SoundCloud, Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, TikTok, and over 60 other platforms.
The new tier also allows artists to receive 100% of the royalties from plays on SoundCloud, as well as creating revenue streams from other platforms as well.
Additionally, artists will have their music added to playlists and promoted by SoundCloud’s algorithm to connect to fans and reach A&R executives. Artists will also be eligible for one professional mastering credit per month and can swap out tracks three times a monthto improve music while not losing the plays, likes, or comments that the track has already earned.
“Our mission has always been to empower artists and fans to connect and share through music and that means breaking down barriers that prevent great music from being heard. Whether you’re recording your first track or starting to build a fanbase, this new plan offers the tools you need to succeed—without the heavy costs typically associated with professional music distribution. By lowering the cost of entry, we’re giving more artists the opportunity to break into the music industry, find their audience, and start monetizing their work,” a rep for SoundCloud said.
