$15 Million Renovation Started At Bass Concert Hall

AUSTIN, TX (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The long-awaited $15 million remodeling of UT-Austin’s Bass Concert Hall has begun, which will include improvements in sound and lighting systems, restaurants, a rooftop lounge, a donor lounge, as well as additional exhibition spaces. The ambitious project will also include a new glass-front façade and a larger, light-filled lobby.

The construction on the 26-year-old facility is expected to last 18 months.

The University of Texas Performing Arts Center, which currently runs the Bass Concert Hall, will begin working with Live Nation to expand event offerings to the community.

The renovations at the venue have been designed by BOORA Architects of Portland, OR, who are working alongside Austin-based CCS&H Architects.

The university put up $9 million for the work, and the UTPAC has secured a $5.7 million bond to cover the rest of the costs. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
