LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Six dates in five European cities on Elton John’s Red Piano tour have been cancelled after the tour promoter said it “could not guarantee to put the shows on.”
The BBC News has reported that shows in Venice (June 5 and 6), Berlin (June 22), Moscow (July 3), Paris (September 9) and Seville (September 14) have been shelved.
The Red Piano concerts, developed in Las Vegas, involve an ambitious stage design with video screens and giant inflatable props.
“We do of course appreciate that Elton’s fans will be disappointed at this news, and we are already looking into the possibility of returning to the affected cities in the very near future,” a statement from the concert organizers read.
Several Red Piano shows set for this fall in Las Vegas are expected to go on as planned, as well as more than a dozen concerts by Elton John and his band, including summer dates in the UK. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
