LAS VEGAS (CelebrityAccess) — Kevin Lyman, founder of the Vans Warped Tour, is set to host the 15th Annual Parnelli Awards when it takes place on October 24th at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
The awards, presented by Projection Lights & Staging News and Front of House magazines are intended to honor the unsung heroes of the live industry, including lighting designers, audio engineers, set designers and other creative and technical professionals.
Nominees for this year's awards include the men and women behind the tours of Maroon 5, Garth Brooks, Barry Manilow, Neil Diamond, Kenny Chesney, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Shania Twain and Taylor Swift, among others.
As well, three lifetime achievement awards being will be given out at the ceremony as well.
Parnelli Lifetime Achievement Award: Chris Lamb, production and tour manager to top artists through the years, from Queen and Madonna to Michael Jackson and Jennifer Lopez.
Parnelli Visionary Award: David Cunningham, who built the first mass-produced computerized lighting board. He also invented the ETC Source Four, a wildly successful update to theatrical lighting fixtures; it was launched in 1992.
Parnelli Audio Innovator Award: Pat Quilter, founder of QSC, who pioneered components that made modern P.A. possible, including a revolutionary design of the power amp.
