AEG Nabs Rockness Festival

LOCH NESS, Scotland (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Continuing their efforts to expand into the lucrative festival market, AEG Live UK has announced that its acquired a controlling stake in the Scottish Rockness Festival, MusicWeek has reported.

Both AEG and their primary competitor in the market, Live Nation, have been looking for ways to beef up their festival offerings in recent years.

AEG's president of international touring Rob Hallett stated, "It's a great concept in a beautiful location run by excellent operators and we are certain that many of the artists we tour will agree."

The three year old camper took place on June 7-8 and featured a lineup including Razorlight, Fatboy Slim, Pete Tong and the Editors to name a few.

According to the Daily Record, this year's festival drew more than 35,000 people to the village of Dores on the banks of the Loch Ness, who enjoyed good weather over the course of the weekend. The festival was marred by the death of one teenager. Authorities are investigating if the cause of death was drug related. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
