NASHVILLE, TN (CelebrityAccess) — The Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin has canceled a series of upcoming concerts, citing a doctor's orders for her to get some rest.
"Due to doctors' orders I will have to cancel a few concerts for the next month or so," Franklin said in a statement released on Monday.
Thus far, there are five affected dates, including an August 26th performance at the Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts in Vienna, Virginia; two shows at Radio City Music Hall; a variety special honoring Tony Bennett's recent 90th birthday on September 15 and a solo performance on September 23 — as well as October appearances in Michigan and Missouri, according to the Associated Press.
At present, Franklin has indicated she plans to return to the stage in November, starting with a November 11 show in Welch, Minnesota followed a day later by a concert in Chicago. – Staff Writers
