Aussie Fest Visa Snafu

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Nashville promoter John Lomax III encountered some unforeseen difficulty in gathering the artists planned to play the Australian Festival in Centennial Park in Nashville on September 9-11.

Musicians Ross Wilson, Neil Murray and Warren Fahey were forced to cancel their appearances due to visa problems. Supposedly, Wilson and Murray’s applications had “insufficient documentation.”

In an email sent out to supporters, Lomax insisted that the claim was made “despite at least 50 pages of supporting data, copies of Encyclopedia entries, exper affidavits, the assistance of an immigration specialist in New York City, AUSTRADE, a United States Congressman, the Chambers of Commerce in Australia and America and a few other officials,” according to the Nashville City Paper.

The festival continued, however, featuring performers such as the Greencards, Catherine Britt and Pru Clearwater. The event was the 9th consecutive year of the festival, and is the only such event anywhere outside Australia. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
