TARRAWANNA, New South Wales (CelebrityAccess) — Jay Curley, the bassist for Australian alt-rock outfit Tumbleweeds, has died suddenly at his home. He was 42 at the time of his passing.
The announcement of Curley's death came via the band's website, where a post said: "It is with deep sadness that we inform everyone of a great loss in the Tumbleweed family, our brother, friend and bass player Jay Curley passed away suddenly in his home yesterday.
"We are still shocked by the news of his death. We hope that people will remember him for his music, his big heart and his total dedication to rock and roll."
Jay Curley, who, along with his two brothers, Dave and Lenny, helped to found the Tarrawanna-based band Tumbleweeds in 1990 but had left the band by the time they were nominated for the ARIA Award in 2000 for their album "Mumbo Jumbo."
