CONSHOHOCKEN, PA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Venue management firm SMG has been selected to provide pre-opening and management services for Baylor University's new football stadium and its ancillary facilities. The new stadium is slated to open in August of 2014.
The 5-year deal will see SMG provide a range of services including working with Baylor Athletics on game day management of its football games, as well as booking and management of all non-Baylor events held at the facility. SMG will also provide food and beverage services at the venue through their SAVOR food service division.
Construction of the $260 million, 45,000-seat stadium, located on the University's campus, is being funded by Baylor University and the City of Waco. The stadium will feature a canopy that shades 45 to 55 percent of seats throughout the day, shaded, open concourses with views directly into the stadium, 7,500 student seats, luxury suites and boxes, private event rooms, and other amenities. – Staff Writers
