BOSTON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Béla Flek has signed with Ted Kurland Associates booking agency for world-wide representation. Fleck is no stranger to working with TKA and packaged with Chick Corea for a duo which toured internationally in 2007. The agreement with TKA encompasses both Béla Fleck as a solo artist and with his group The Flecktones. TKA will also handle all Symphony Dates for Fleck through its Symphony division.
Béla Fleck is considered one of the top banjo players in the world. A New York City native (named after composer Béla Bartok), Béla picked up the banjo at age 15 after being awed by the bluegrass playing of Flatt & Scruggs.
TKA seems to have hit the ground running with Fleck and is currently booking his latest tour, Africa Project, which was inspired by Fleck's film "Throw Down Your Heart." The film follows Fleck to Africa as he explores the little-know African roots of the banjo. Look for the tour to hit the road in the Spring of 2009. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
